New Build
Snagging is the process of finding and fixing any minor issues or defects that occur in new homes and is important to both homeowners and property developers alike.
However, it can be frustrating for customers when it is not clear what qualifies as a snag, and what expectations are realistic for putting it right. Situations like this can quickly snowball into lengthy disputes between customers and developers.
The New Homes Quality Board launched in 2022, offering enhanced protections for buyers of new homes. As long as a housebuilder or developer has followed the correct registration process, including completing the necessary training, introducing a complaints procedure, and following other processes and procedures that are needed to meet the requirements of this New Homes Quality Code (the code), they will become a registered developer.
Pre-Completion survey is a non-invasive assessment of fixtures, fittings and services. Our surveyor carries out checks comparable with normal daily use to provide a simple checklist that has been determined by the NHQB (New Homes Quality Board)
According to the requirements set out by the NHQB, this survey has been carried out by a suitably qualified inspector that is a member of a recognised professional association. As a company, Olivia Thomas Estates holds adequate professional indemnity insurance. All our surveyors only work with their competency. We are regulated by the RICS.
